Our small ship pulled into Itea, the nearest port to Delphi and the Temple of Apollo where the oracle once prophesied. I had been here years ago but was unable to see the entire site because a violent thunderstorm struck as we approached the Temple - almost as if the gods were telling us not to enter! This time we had no such warning and greatly enjoyed the new museum and climbing the Sacred Way to the temple, theater, and the stadium beyond. |

We returned to the ship for lunch followed by a swim in the warm and beautiful Adriatic. That evening we cruised through the through the legendary Corinth Canal on your way to Athens.
