We arrived yesterday in Rio, where we’ll spend the next three nights. As the home of the bossa nova, world-famous beaches, and a renowned annual carnaval, Rio is a city known for its exuberant zest for life. Our overnight flights arrived anywhere from 6 AM - early afternoon, and as weary travelers most of us got a slow start in this vibrant city by unpacking our bags, taking a shower, walking to the ATM for local money, and a walk on the beach. |
Our welcome dinner was at a churrascaria, which showcases Brazil's many meats. We started with a buffet of salads and seafood, then were served any number of meats by waiters who brought ribs (pork and beef), prime rib, tenderloin, chicken, lamb, and on and on... We soon learned "puoco" (small) and "não maisin" (no more) in Portuguese.
