It's 4th of July in the US, but here in Canada it's just the day after their Canada Day (July 1) weekend! It seems strange not to be celebrating with parades, picnics and fireworks. Today we traveled from Montreal to Quebec City, arriving on time for lunch. Old Quebec is a UNESCO Heritage Site and everywhere you look you have movie set views. We enjoyed a sightseeing tour of Old and New Quebec. We enjoyed the beauty and history of the stately Chateau Frontenac, the provincial Parliament, the St. Louis Arch, and Place Royale, the site of the original settlement of the city of Quebec. Next we toured the Plains of Abraham where the British defeated the French to gain control of this part of Canada. We had time for a short rest before driving to a quaint country in for a delicious dinner.
