Please excuse the double posting of the Melk Blog. I don't know why my computer decided to send it out twice. Gotta love technology! Here's the one that should have gone out the day you got the duplicate posting. The morning started with an apple strudel making demonstration. Well, it was a demonstration until they asked for volunteers. Nancy volunteered from our group and made a championship quality strudel Next we docked in Passau, Germany where we disembarked disembarked to explore the city with Chris, our Program Director. Called the Dreifluessestadt (City on Three Rivers), this elegant town has served as a German cultural and intellectual hub for centuries. We explored this assortment of pastel-colored buildings, cobblestone streets, and ornate sculptures during our guided walking tour. One of the key features is Dom, the lavish, 17th-century St. Stephen's Cathedral. This structure is home to one of the world's largest pipe organs, with 17,774 pipes and 234 resounding stops. The afternoon was free to pursue our own interests. Some visited the amazing Glass Museum, others ventured out on the bikes again.
