Thank you Carol and Audrey for sending photos so we could include the activities they participated in.
Our ship docked near Kelheim, a quaint Bavarian hamlet. We had the options of visiting Liberation Hall a monument honoring Germany's war victories, taking a boat ride to Weltenburg Abbey tucked in a gentle curve of the Danube, or visiting the town with it's Schneider Weisse, Bavaria's oldest wheat beer brewery. Everyone made a choice and took off for their preferred activity. Thank you Carol and Audrey for sending photos so we could include the activities they participated in. In the afternoon we disembarked and headed to the home of a local family in the village of Beilngries for a traditional Kaffeeklatsch. We broke into small groups to share coffee and cake with our host and get a glimpse of local life.
