Wednesday morning we said goodbye to our beautiful Ballachulish Hotel not knowing we were in for an even more spectacular day and hotel that evening. ![]() The sun came out as we begin your day with a breathtaking drive in the heart of Scotland, passing through Glencoe and crossing Rannoch Moor. We've loved Scotland, but now realize how much better the last few days would have been had we had sunshine! We wound along very narrow roads, often having to stop or back up so motor coaches could creep by one another with only inches of room. We noted multiple mangled rear view mirrors. Thanks to our driver Frank, we had no problems. However another unfortunate driver was not so lucky and our forward movement was halted due to an accident ahead. Fortunately for us, we were stopped adjacent to a pier with a lake (loch) cruise vendor. Our capable guide April jumped off the coach and arranged for us to to take a relaxing cruise on the famed Loch Lomond, the largest lake in the United Kingdom. After a light lunch we stopped for our last evening in Scotland at the spectacular Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Resort. The facility and grounds were beautiful! What a way to top off a perfect day and a great trip. It just got better when we walked to the Scottish working farm next door. We enjoyed tea and shortbread, family (clan) tales, and music before seeing a farmer working his sheep dogs. Later, we settled in to our loch-side hotel and join our fellow travelers for a farewell dinner to celebrate your time together in Scotland.
